Welcome to The Hunted Trilogy
This is a horror/slasher film inspired role-playing game that takes place in an unknown location in the
United States to give an added sense of loss and isolation to the characters involved in the "film". The game itself will follow the story structure of a horror movie trilogy, as each "Game Film" will be a particular installment in the trilogy. There will be an establishing "Game Film" entitled
The Hunted and two "Game Film" sequels, both of which have working titles
(to prevent spoilers the titles will not be released until it is time to begin that particular installment).
In keeping to the tradition of the horror/slasher genre each installment will have a number of Survivors. There are different member groups to progress through...
Living (new characters),
Killed (murdered characters), and
Survivor (characters who survive a full incarnation). Though this rule can be revised at a later date, for now, the first installment will have only
three surviving characters, while the first sequel will have only
two surviving characters, and the third and final installment will have
one remaining survivor.
As members lose characters in one "Game Film" they will be free to create a new one for the subsequent "Game Film". All characters will be human as this will not be a supernatural thriller, but a genuine horror RPG.
Background of The Hunted
The first "Game Film" follows the adventures of a group of college friends on a summer road trip
(depending on the amount of initial characters the board receives, it could be altered to feature a class trip of soon-to-be high school seniors). The group of friends become stranded on the road in the middle of nowhere, and must forge on foot to seek help. They soon discover that the only location they can find for miles is an old abandoned mansion. With a random thunderstorm fast approaching the group of teenagers have no choice but to take shelter in the old mansion and wait out the storm. Soon afterwards, the teens find out the storm is the least of their troubles.
All members will be portraying their characters as mutual friends with one another and therefore all character relationships must be discussed and approved before the Game Film takes place. There will be a specific thread for everyone to use for this discussion. The only character information that will be approved is information that is posted in that particular thread.
