Title: Press Junket
Description: Go ahead, introduce yourself!
John - July 10, 2007 06:50 PM (GMT)
The obligatory meet and greet! Introduce us to the person behind the character! We promise not to bite!
Cortez - July 12, 2007 12:19 AM (GMT)
Hey everyone, it's Mikey. I'm pretty sure that everyone here knows me already, but I figured I'd just say hey and tell you all this is my character.
Courtney - July 12, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
*Pounces Mikey* Hey y'all! This is Emma. Like Mikey, I'm pretty sure you all know me too, but I just thought I'd say hi anyways. :D
This site looks great, I can't wait to get murdered with you all. Well if I pass the audition that is.
John - July 12, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
Hey guys! I just want to say thank you for joining this little RPG. It's different from what we're used to so here's to hoping it's a success! ;)
Rumer - July 12, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
It's Emmaly. And you have no idea how excited I am for this board. I haven't been this excited since I got tickets to see Backstreet Boys. And that was a long time ago. So it's a lot of excited. And I'm excited because it is different than anything else that's out there. I'll shut up now. :)
John - July 12, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
Shit! I cut my finger! It freakin' hurts! :(
With that out of the way, I know huh? I mean I've always been the type to watch a scary movie and place myself in it while trying to picture how I would act in that situation! Hence, the creation of this board!
Granted, I won't be playing any of the teenaged friends, I'm just playing one character and you all know who that is! ;) But I'm looking forward to watching how you guys play out The Hunted. It'll be like reading a novelization of a horror movie, while being in it at the same time.
Thanks for joining Emmaly, here's to the RPG living up to the hype! :)
Lucas - July 12, 2007 06:59 AM (GMT)
Y'all know me, it's the other Jon.
*goes into speech mode*
And I'd just like to say *dramatic pause* that I'm looking forward to being massacred with you.
John - July 12, 2007 07:10 AM (GMT)
Ooo! More Slasher fodder! :D
Welcome and thanks for joining! :) Glad to see so many familiar and interested people so soon after opening. :)
Rumer - July 12, 2007 07:13 AM (GMT)
TJ, I think you should know by now that we'd all be Slasher fodder for you. I think someone really needs to make TJ fangirl buttons. Well or fanboy buttons.
John - July 12, 2007 07:17 AM (GMT)
Hahaha! Oh, can I get one in blue! J/K I'm not that full of myself. My sister makes sure of that.
Nice to know I can count on you guys for such dangerous liaisons! ;)
Rumer - July 12, 2007 07:21 AM (GMT)
Well at least your sister makes sure that you're not that full of yourself. Because if your ego gets too big you wouldn't be able to fit through the door. Besides that's what sisters are for.
We torture our brothers. Just ask mine. ;)
John - July 12, 2007 07:23 AM (GMT)
I believe you! Though sibling rivalry is a healthy sport.
Rumer - July 12, 2007 07:26 AM (GMT)
I think in me and my brother's case it's a violent sport.
John - July 12, 2007 07:28 AM (GMT)
Naw...that's normal. ;)
Unless my sister and I are just as abnormal as you and your brother.
Rumer - July 12, 2007 07:30 AM (GMT)
Well you could be as abnormal as me and my brother since my friends think that when we get into knock down drag 'em out fights it's unusual.
For us it's just how we say "I love you" without actally saying it. :P
John - July 12, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
Alright we don't get that violent. Ours is much more lightweight and lighthearted. Though some cousins of mine do full out brawl so eh...
Rumer - July 12, 2007 07:35 AM (GMT)
Oh see we have holes in our walls because me and my brother get into tussles...well...okay they're more than tussles obviously because there are holes in the wall, most of which came from my elbow...or fist..or kneecap or something.
And all my cousins are boring. They just break limbs in motocross.
John - July 12, 2007 07:40 AM (GMT)
You're perfect for a horror RPG. :)
Rumer - July 12, 2007 07:42 AM (GMT)
Or World Wrestling Entertainment. I could take Hogan down. B)
Perry - July 12, 2007 02:43 PM (GMT)
Hi everyone, I'm Brandan. I'm not a member but mostly all of you know me. *waves*
Krysta - July 12, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
Hey, guys, Mandi here. I think everyone knows me .... -counts- Yup.
Wait ... Which Brandon are you? I know a couple. lol.
Anyway. John, the site looks fantastic. I'm so excited to get started!! I always watch movies and imagine myself in the movie, or rewriting the script or something. This is so awesome. And the board is so nice and simple. I like it. NOt all complicated wit ha million forums like our other boards. Nice job!!
Perry - July 12, 2007 03:47 PM (GMT)
*runs to Mandi and pounces* Guess! Your local friendly energeizer bunny. This is a cool board! So excited!
Krysta - July 12, 2007 04:30 PM (GMT)
LOL okay I guess I know now. Glad you found the place, hun.
John - July 12, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Hi Brandan and Mandi. I'm glad you guys like the board, thanks for wantng to be apart of it. ;)
Krysta - July 12, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
Looking forward to getting started, John. I can't wait to see if my theories and whatnot pan out :D
Perry - July 14, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
It would be fun to see who survives and who would be the one running screaming through the woods half nude before they're chop to little tiny pieces. Don't you love horror movies?
Krysta - July 16, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
LMAO!!!!
And no, not really. I find them incredibly cheesey and predictable. Boring, really. Dude, my sister and I used to watch The SHining on ABC every year they showed it just to laugh at it. It was fun.
But writing one like this sounds like fun. Especially since the recipe is the same for any horror film.
John - July 16, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
ABC, I'm sure, showed a very watered-down version of The Shining. Unless you watch it unedited, of course it'd come across as laughably ridiculous. ;)
This board was created out of my love for horror movies and for fans of horror movies. Members should have some kind of affinity for them to want to join, otherwise why bother?
Krysta - July 17, 2007 01:49 PM (GMT)
Ya, I did see the full version. That's why we loved watching the ABC version. THe story itself was a good one. I liked the idea of it. There's a lot of things I would have done differently, but hey. Not my call.
It's the same with Liar Liar. OMG! That movie is more funny on family TV. I love to see what words they're gonna substitute with what.
Don't get me wrong, I wanna be here cause I think this is gonna be a blast. Im' an aspiring actress, so playing a role in anything works for me. Watching a movie and taking part in one are two completely different things. I love being on the side of the screen that lets me use my creative juices and shape the movie. Which is why I want to get into film.
And I do like the occasional thriller. Some are really well done. Example, anything by Hitchcock. I absolutely adore his work. Especially The Birds. That would be my all time favourite horror/thriller. I put anything you come up with in that category, John. I know this isn't going to be your typical, clicheed horror movie type thing. You've always got great, new and unique ideas.
::EDIT:: -several minutes later-
Jon found this site. Ithought it would be good for a chuckle:

Rumer - July 17, 2007 09:28 PM (GMT)
Trust me Stephen King's books are always like...ten times better than they are in the movies and really the movies aren't something you can judge since they leave so much out to begin with. Like IT about the killer clown. The movie of course scared me when I was a kid just because Tim Curry scared the crap out of me but I read the book once I was in high school and that scared me more.
And you can't really compare Hitchcock movies, whom I love because I'm a big film person as I'm a film minor, to the horror movies and thrillers of today. They're not really the same. Oh sure they have the same elements but horror/scary movies today are a lot different than a Hitchcock thriller just because we can push the envelope a lot further.
But I love scary movies. None of my friends will ever go and see them with me in the theater. Well except for one friend and we watch the really bad cheesy horror movies together which is just funny.
Krysta - July 17, 2007 09:55 PM (GMT)
Oh I don't doubt that the books are better. I've seen too many books be trashed by shitty movies. It's a real piss-off, that's for sure. Sadly, I don't have much reading time anymore. :(
I liked Rose Red. That was a good movie. I wanted to see Dreamcatcher, too. That looked good and not cheesey.
See, I never liked clowns to begin with, so watching a horror movie about clowns just doesn't seem like something I'd want to do.
The ones that are based on real life, though, I really don't want to watch. I just don't feel right watching something that's making money off people who've suffered. Now, if it was in the form of a docu-movie, it might be different. It's just that thin line between telling you what happened and making money off what happened . . . If any of that makes sense.
Rumer - July 17, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Oh same here. The movies based off Stephen King aren't bad sometimes they're just a little bit cheesy but for the most part the movies based off of his books creep the hell out of me because they're just twisted.
I didn't like Dreamcatcher too much. That was just way to strange. His newest movie 1408...now that was an awesome movie. I really enjoyed seeing it.
And IT was what made me hate clowns. I'm still terrified of them. I can't go to the circus without being freaked out. It's actually kind of funny.
And yeah I understand where you're coming from but it's that old adage of the truth is better than fiction and if you want to be scared then just watch something that's based off of the truth. Like Wolf Creek. That movie freaked me out just because it was based on a true story.
Krysta - July 17, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)
Hm. I won't watch Dreamcatcher, then. lol. I've heard bad reviews about it, so now those reviews are confirmed now that you've told me. :)
OMG I wanna see 1408. We downloaded it, but we can't watch it with Aethen around. And he doens't usally go to sleep until 9:30 or so.
I just never liked clowns. Or Mimes. OMG I hate mimes. They piss me off to no end. Even if they're not bothering me. I guess it goes back to being the target of teasing when I was growing up . . .
We've got Wolf Creek, too, but I don't know what that one's about. You know me and my wolves . . . Don't really like watching something that dmeans them or puts them in a bad light. I hate Litte Red Riding Hood because of that.
Rumer - July 17, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
Yeah Dreamcatcher was just a wierd movie and I didn't enjoy it in the least bit. Now 1408 was really really good but then again I am a fan of the Cusak's so that might be the problem with me but I honestly enjoyed the film.
Mimes amuse me. They really don't bother me. Clowns are just creepy. They've always been creepy. Creepy clowns.
As for Wolf Creek it has nothing to do with wolves. Nothing at all. It's not what you think. It's a real life horror movie. *nods*
Courtney - July 17, 2007 11:15 PM (GMT)
I didn't know where to put this, or even if I needed to since I posted my absence over on C:AOP. But yeah, I'm going away...
Leave date: 18th July
Return date: 26th July
Just for a week though. I hope it doesn't cause any problems. I actually get back on the 25th I'm just not sure what time I do, but I will defiantly be ready and able to post on the 26th.
John - July 17, 2007 11:18 PM (GMT)
I don't think the group will be posting by then, but even if they are posting by then Courtney can be in the car sleep since it'll be early morning when the game does start up. ;)
Krysta - July 17, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
OOOOO Krysta will SO be painting a mustache on her face!!! -evil laugh-
As for the rest ...
So 1408 it is. lol. Wolf Creek ... Real lif? Ooo creepy. Kewl. What is it about then?
Rumer - July 17, 2007 11:35 PM (GMT)
Wolf Creek is about a group of friends in Austrailia that go out to a metor crash site to watch an eclipse and their car stops working. They then get drugged and kipknapped by some wierdo. They get tortured physically and emotionally and only one of them survives. It came out a couple years ago but it's based off something that happened.
Cortez - July 17, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
Remember guys, this is an introductions thread. I'm sure that you can create a seperate OT Chat thread.
Krysta - July 17, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
:P Killjoy. John didn't seem to mind. But I"ll start one anyway. I thought about it already, just havn'et gotten around to it yet.
