{The grounds which surround the old mansion are lined heavy with large oak trees with thick branches that shade the entire area. Little sunlight gets in through the sea of leaves and branches.}

Krysta - March 16, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
Krysta pulls Argelico through the gates and onto the overgrown path. It doesn't take long before they are full under the canopy. She looks around. "Wow," She whispers, awed by how dark it had become. "These trees must be hundreds of years old." She observes. The branches were thick and twisted. The canopy almost completely cut out the sunlight. Unfortunately, it didn't serve to quell the heat any.

"You'd think with all these trees, it would be cooler in here." She observes as she slows her pace. Her flip flops are slippery with sweat. (Ugh. What I wouldn't do for my hiking boots right now.)

Argelico - March 24, 2008 09:37 AM (GMT)
The moment they stepped under the protective branches of the colonnade of trees, Argelico shared Krysta's disappointment as the cooling promised by the thick shadow failed to materialise.

"Probably because even the air itself is hot and humid, if there was even the lightest breath of a cool breeze this place would be like stepping into an igloo." (Ice ... the house is looking awefully abandoned the closer we get to it ... what's the likelihood of electricity let alone a telephone service?) "I don't watch those programmes about haunted places, so you're going to have to tell me, does that place look familiar to you?" He nodded at the facade of the building emerging from the gloom, a rather unpleasant looking aged light at the end of the tunnel.

Krysta - March 25, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
"Yeah," She says slowly, agreeing with Argelico. Her eyes scan the grounds around them and then move to the now creepy-looking mansion ahead. "This is so not helping the dehydration possibilities." She mutters against the humidity Argelico had just spoken of. She reaches into her bag and pull outs a bottle of still-cold water. She hands it to Argelico, figuring that he needed it more than she did. She'd save the others for later. Although she really wanted to just dump the whole thing over her head to cool herself off. She resists, knowing they'd likely need the water for later. She wasn't sure how long it would take for Luc to fix the bus. Unless there was a still-working phone line in the house. Which she was beginning to doubt by the looks of the place.

At his question, she laughs, looking over at him. More to take her sights off the house for a moment than anything else. "No, sorry." She says with a wide grin and looks back at the place, her pace slowing even more. She was beginning to not like the idea of going into the house with just the two of them. Never does it cross her mind that she shouldn't trust Argelico.

She glances back at the others who seemed to be mulling around the bus. (Maybe we should wait for the others ... Safety in numbers, right?) Krysta's mind begins to doubt the safety of the place before her. But seriously. What could be wrong with it? (Other than it's falling apart and looks like it could be straight out of some Stephen King movie.) The red head immediately regrets her obssession with horror movies. It seems the closer they get to the old mansion, the hotter and more disgusting the tempurature gets. "Ugh," She mutters again, thoroughly disgusted with her surroundings. "Seriousl. Have we fallen into the pits of hell or something?" She says thinking out loud more than actually asking a question. "It's never been this ... Gross back home."

Argelico - April 13, 2008 09:41 AM (GMT)
"It's probably abandoned," Argelico replied. He wondered why. Had it been maintained and in good repair, the place would have been worth a fortune even out here in the middle of nowhere. It was the perfect celebrity love child hideaway ... if someone hadn't let it go to the ... (well the pits of hell.)

"I don't think we're going to find a working anything in that," he glanced back to see what was keeping the rest of the gang from following them. "Then again ... it's the perfect setting for your horror movie ... if I were writing the script, now is where you'd have a little twist ... although where you'd hide a knife in that outfit has me at a loss ... maybe for the film we put you in go-go boots?" He winked at her.

Krysta - April 14, 2008 01:34 AM (GMT)
"Yeah, looks like ..." Krysta trails off, staring into the black windows of the mansion. But there's still ahint of hope inside her. People left things like phone lines active for the strangest reasons. You never knew what you could find in those places.

SHe's about to say that when he refers to her earlier comment. Laughter emits from her. Both nervous and amused. She's not so nervous about the compelte stranger she had just convinced everyone to pick up off the highway. But the house still looked creepy. Which, to her, was awesome. She loved creepy. The adrenaleine continues to pump through her as she gets more excited.

"Well, who says it has to be a knife?" She asks, grinning. Although, she liked the idea of go-go boots. "Not all serial killers use knives. Only the messy ones." She explains, continuing forward to the house. "Why not have a killer use something that's near them? Or something I can stick in my hair?" She thinks of a few actions movie's she's seen. Particularily, something she'd seen Lucy Lu do. "Like a knife that looks like a hair ... Thing." She suggestst, rolling her finger in her hair to demonstrate.

Cortez - May 30, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
"Like a knife that looks like a hair ... Thing."

Cortez, again, rolls his eyes as he approaches Krysta and Argelico. He stands stoic and silent, knowing that Krysta wouldn't want him near her in the least, especially if she was trying to flirt with someone. Still, it was time to play the good frenemy and protect Krysta, moreso for Rumer's sake than anyone elses. "Hi." That's all the Cortez will offer the duo before looking over his shoulder, seeing if Lucas was far behind him.

(The things we do for love...)

Krysta - May 31, 2008 09:10 PM (GMT)
Krysta's eyes pan towards her 'frenemy.' (Ugh. Where the fuck's Lucas?) Krysta's eyes just narrow at him. Had Argelico not been there, she would have said more, but she didn't want to make the newcomer too uncomfortable. Plus, the guy looked like he wanted to be there as much as she wanted hm there. She glances back at the girls in the van. (Hmm. They must have sent him.) So she decides to go for the truce instead.

She continues to walk, coming ever closer to the front entrance to the huge, looming mansion. As they come upon the wrap-around porch, Krysta takes a moment out from glowering at Cortez to admire it.

Lucas - May 31, 2008 09:25 PM (GMT)
Luc crosses the grounds to Cortez, Argelico and Krysta, the normal smile that he’d have when around his friends is nowhere near present as he makes his approach. He keeps his breathing slow and even, keeping a lid on the almost overwhelming urge to beat the shit out of Rumer’s boyfriend. His first target is Cortez. He makes his way over to Cortez and he stands close enough so that he can whisper into Cortez’s ear, his chest not quite pressed up against the other guy’s back. When he speaks his voice comes out as a low growl carrying every ounce of threat that Luc intends.

“Your girlfriend isn’t around to protect you now,” as he talks his lips form into an angry snarl, baring sharp, white teeth to the world. He then carries on walking, bumping Cortez hard with his shoulder as he places some distance between himself and the group. He crosses his arms over his chest, his fingernails digging into his arms. He keeps his ears alert for any noises coming from behind him, particularly from Cortez.
