The title has been edited, to clarify the topic of the thread, which is for off-topic chatter. ;)

Krysta - July 18, 2007 02:06 PM (GMT)
Oops! Sorry. lol. Shoulda clarified. Like the name, though?

But to continue, I think I"ll pull Wolf Creek out of one of our endless number of spindals and watch it one day while Aethen's at school or something.

Any other reccommendations?

Yeah, Wolf Creek is definately not a movie you want the kiddies to watch. And as for recommendations it all depends on the kind of movies that you like to watch. Because I'm a big fan of well...anything. Trust me. Between me and my brother we have about....1000 movies and probably 40 or 50 tv shows on DVD because we both have such diverse taste in movies.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
HA! That's nothing. Carey's a pirate. And not the Johnny Depp kind. Though he did go as one for Halloween last year, but that's a different topic.

You name it, we've got it. I love mysteries, suspence, supernatural (Obviously), sci-fi. Like I mentioned, anything Hitchcock did, I adore. I guess basically, if it's not something that's cheesey and heavy with clichees, it's all good. I hate predictable. I want to be kept guessing for the whole movie. I got bored with Signs. And that's bad cause I love Mel Gibson. Um . . . You name it and if we don't have it, we can get it somehow.

Well see this excludes the 3 or 400 movies that he's getting rid of and a bunch that I'm not keeping either. And we didn't pirate any of them. We're serious collectors because we've both hunted down certian films and tv shows that you can't find on the net or at the stores.

I really enjoyed The Skeleton Key with Kate Hudson that was actually one of the few movies that surprised me in the end. I enjoyed Stay Alive with Sophia Bush but that's because I love Sophia Bush (as if you couldn't tell) and I love videogames so it was the perfect combination. Hmm, recently I saw the new Harry Potter (excellent if you're into those) and Live Free or Die Hard. I love Bruce Willis so that was actually a really good surprise. I didn't think it was going to be that great and it was really good. Transformers and Ratatouille were really good as for movies that just came out.

Movies that have been out. Witches (Angelica Houston) fabulous old movie, Witches of Eastwick (one of my favorites), The Jacket was pretty suspensful, Little Monsters, Match Point, and Casino Royale (the new Bond movie) were all really good. SOme of them are old some are new.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 07:03 PM (GMT)
Well, Carey has a bunch of torrent sites that are a Members Only type thing. You need to be invited by one of the members to get anything from the site. There's lots of things online that I didn't think even existed anymore. It's great.

I saw the commercials for Skeleton Key. DIdn't look all that interesting. As for Stay Alive, I'm not really a gamer. If I cna't play it on my phone, then I don't play it. Cards, Tetris, chess (Even though I suck), checkers. And our RPGs. THat's it. So it dind't intrigue e in the least.

I saw the first Harry Potter on TV and the second in theatres. I really like them, but haven't had a chance to see the other ones.

Live Free or Die Hard kicked ass. I love Bruce Willis. That's why I wanted to see it.

I saw Little MOnsters a looong time ago I think. On TV.

I'll put the others on my To Watch list.

Ah those sites. Yeah tell me about finding things online that you didn't think existed anymore. We found Oregon Trail online and I've been playing like crazy. I loved that game when I was a kid.

As for Skeleton Key I didn't think it looked that interesting either but it actually turned out to have a really great plot twist in it. And Stay Alive it's not based on videogames. The main characters are gamers but that's not what the movie is about. The movie is a horror movie. It's about Elizabeth Bathory. SO the gaming was just a way to bring the movie to life in a way.

Well I love the third one but that's because it has Sirius. I liked the fourth one but I LOVE this newest one that just came out. But I'm a Harry Potter geek and I'm all excited because the last book comes out on Friday and I get to go to the midnight launch for it. Though I'm kind of sad because it is the last book.

Oh well.

 It was really good and Justin Long was hilarious in it. Kevin Smith was funny too.

And Little Monsters. Such an 80s movie. Which is great. Because the 80s has some great movies.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
I actually found an HD copy of Labyrinth online. Well, Carey did. We had the entire series of M*A*S*H before it came out on DVD, and countless other things. But you know what I"m talking about.

Well aren't you lucky :P Guess that's what happenes when you live where you live. -pouts- I live so far away from anything worth doing. I wanted to move to Vancouver just so I could try and get on Stargate Atlantis, but now they're in LA, too. <_<

I don't really remember Little Monsters that well. But yes, 80's movies rock. Well, the good ones anyway. four words: Back to the Future.

Yeah well me and my brother like to actually buy them because we like to watch the special features and be able to take them to our friends houses and stuff. :P

Yeah, well you'd be surprised. There isn't much to do where I live either. I mean sure there is but I mean I live 5 min away from the beach but do I go? Nope. Not because I don't want to but because it gets kind of boring after awhile. And everything worth doing costs money or you have to spend hours upon hours in traffic. And I hate traffic. I hate the 405 freeway and I now hate the freeway that runs through my city because it's always backed up with traffic.

And omg. I loved Back to the Future. Then again I love Micheal J. Fox. He's one of my favorite actors.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
Ya well :P If we bought everything we have ... We'v'e spent tounsands on thousands of dollars. And we get the extras, too so :P

Well, when traffic is the issue, I totally understand. I used to live in a big city and if you got a green light after it turned red only twice, you were moving fast. The expressways were a joke. Talk about your oxymoron. But here's not too bad. If you have a car. Cause ya. Country/mountainous area. Nothing's close by. Especially where I live. I'm at the very edge of the city. It takes me half an hour by bus to get anywhere from where I live. And I don't have my drivers licence so that makes it kinda hard to go anywhere when Carey's not home.

OMG I love him, too. I always have. Basically since I saw Family Ties. Was that before or after BttF?

Yeah believe me I know. But I get all mine for cheap cause of where I work. People trade in movies and it's like...buy two get one free plus a 10% discount plust my employe discount and it's like...15 bucks for three movies. So I save more than I spend.

And I don't think I could live without my drivers liscence but you have to have one here. But see also in the past...5 years things have gotten really busy in this area and there have been a lot more people moving in than there had been and the populations almost doubled. So that's part of the reason why traffic has gotten so bad. And a lot of people from LA move through here too so we've got that. Which is why I love California but hate it at the same time.

He's done Spin City, which I love and Doc Hollywood. He's been on Boston Legal. And my favorite. Teen Wolf.

John - July 18, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Teen Wolf is one of my favorite movies. :D

Rumer - July 18, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
Really? Mine too. You don't find many people who know about Teen Wolf. It's an awesome movie.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Teen Wolf? Now that sounds interesting ...

Wow sounds like a busy place. But it's beautiful. I love your view.

And :P about that discount/cheap thing. Just :P

I wanna get my licence, but the damn price keeps going up. I can't afford it all at once. I could use the near 200 dollars for for diapers, wipes and groceries. <_<

It's really a good movie.

And yeah I love my view too. Because when I want to go to the beach I can go anytime I want to.

:D :D :D

Yeah. They're not expensive here. Well unless you have to keep taking it. It's passport photos that have gotten expensive here.

Yes! I grew up watching that movie! It's a classic. *nods*

It is a classic.

*makes mental note to make brother bring it home from work*

Krysta - July 18, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
Everything's expensive here. We may have 'free' health care, but the government fucks us in the ass for everything else.

What's this Teen WOlf movie about? I think I've seen some random pics online about it ...

Well I love America but we get fucked out of everything.

He's a werewolf and he becomes a really good basketball player and yeah. He's a teenager.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)

Rumer - July 18, 2007 10:27 PM (GMT)
Yeah. It's a really really cute story though.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
Sounds very .... 80's .... lol. Like this movie that Carey loves ... Crap I forget what it's called. It's got ... damn! the basketball player guy ... Michael Jordan! THat's it. He's in it. He's a genie and grants this kid three wishes. I forget what it's called. Cute story, but very 80's.

Rumer - July 18, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)
Oh I know what movie you're talking about and actually I think it's Shaquille O'Neal in Kazaam. Michael Jordan was in Space Jam. And both movies came out in the 90's. I was in Junior High.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
That's the one!! And oh. I can't keep track of them. They came out in the 90's? They seem so ... 80's. lol. You know what I mean?

Never saw Space Jam, though. I remember that movie coming out.

Yeah well I think it's because we're so old that we think they came out in the 80's. But 90's movies were cheesy too since all the sports stars were starring in the movies.

And Space Jam was a cute movie.

Krysta - July 18, 2007 11:01 PM (GMT)
LOL! That's very true ... I'm older than you, too, arne't I? God I feel old now ...

Did you see The Labyrinth with David Bowie? God I love that movie.

The Labyrinth is one of my all time favorites.

Rumer - July 18, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
You're only older than me by like a year or two and yeah I've seen the Labyrinth. I'm a David Bowie fangirl. That's one of my fave movies.

John - July 19, 2007 12:45 AM (GMT)
Oh and Pulse, I will never again in my life watch that movie intentionally. Not even the wonderfully talented Kristen Bell could save that movie!!

Rumer - July 19, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
They really need to stop making Japanese horror movie remakes. They're not good. Didn't they learn from the Grudge and the Ring?

Krysta - July 19, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
LOL! I hear that. Though my sister liked The Ring ... But she's a strange one.

Yay Labyrinth fans! I love David Bowie. That movie made me fall in love with him.

The Labyrinth....I never really got what all the hullaballoo was about, if you don't mind me saying. It always got me snoring before the end.

On the other hand, I've never seen Ring, so I can't completely insult yet, heh heh.

Krysta - August 15, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
Oh, you did not!! That was one of my favourite movies growing up. It's how I fell in love with David Bowie! =p I thought it was a good metaphore.

-several minutes later-

Okay, this is freaking awesome. Seriously. I've seen it about a hundred times, if not more, and I still can't get enough of it.

I tried watching some of it, but my internet's really slow. I think I got the gist of it though--it was pretty funny. Wish I could dance like that. :P
