Rumer Valentine, the good girl who doesn’t always make the brightest decisions, is portrayed by Sophia Bush best recognized from her role as Brooke Davis on the television series “One Tree Hill” and as Grace Andrews in the horror film “The Hitcher”. This is her first appearance in the Hunted Trilogy, appearing in The Hunted.
Character History
Rumer grew up the only childhood of parents that were complete work-a-holics. When she turned twelve, she practically begin raising herself and because of that she hasn’t always made the brightest of decisions. Around this time she became the new girl in school when she entered junior high. Immediately Courtney Adams befriended her, followed by Lucas Farrell and Krysta Warren. When the group of friends entered high school Rumer met Cortez in their history class and instantly hit it off with him. Shortly thereafter she began dating Cortez, mainly because he was the bad boy, and to piss off her neglective parents. Despite this Rumer sees that Cortez has some good qualities, even though they're not apparent to her friends.
However, because Courtney, Krysta and Lucas are her best friends Rumer can't ignore them when they say what a dick Cortez is and she can't always deny the claim, especially with how he treats them even while in her presence. Rumer still resists her friends’ advice of breaking up with Cortez over his rebelliousness as she is not the type of person who is going to make you change who you are to be friends with someone else. Even so, lately Rumer and Cortez have been fighting about how Cortez purposefully treats her friends rudely. Rumer sees the road trip as a way to try and see if Cortez can learn to get along with Lucas, Krysta, and Courtney...otherwise she feels as though she is going to have to choose between being with her friends or her boyfriend.
